Little Silver Borough is seeking a full time Chief Financial Officer, Certified Tax Collector and Treasurer to serve as the Borough’s Director of Finance that is a team player with strong analytical skills.Little Silver is in Eastern Monmouth County and has a wonderful small-town feel with a beautiful Shrewsbury River waterfront and outstanding school system.
The Borough has a Municipal Budget of $12MM. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, budget preparation & oversight, maintenance of the general ledger, debt & grant management, investment & disbursement of funds, purchasing, payroll, bank reconciliations, Best Practices Inventory, finance related ordinances and resolutions, escrow accounts, review of Annual Financial Statements and Annual Debt Statements prepared by Borough’s Auditor, audit coordination and assistance.
Candidate must have excellent communicative and interpersonal skills. Minimum 3- 5 years municipal finance experience, Edmunds software knowledge and strong computer/software literacy is required. The CMFO is responsible for supervising staff, including tax collection, and tasked with coordination, preparation, and oversight of all financial operations. Applicants for the position must possess a New Jersey CMFO and Certified Tax Collector (CTC) license. Additional certification of Qualified Purchasing Agent (QPA) ispreferred for the selected applicant.
